Biography
Cat Conner began her love for jazz at the age of 16 in her hometown of Toronto, Canada; hearing all the jazz greats in a small club setting. The biggest impact came when she saw Carmen McRae, Oscar Peterson, Stan Getz as well as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson & Stan Kenton big bands, every night of the week for the run of their stay. Hearing her rich speaking voice, Stan Getz set her up with a vocal teacher who got her started singing what was in her heart.

Cat moved to San Diego from Toronto and began playing in jazz clubs up and down the West Coast, singing with great jazz artists such as Mundell Lowe, John Hammond, Freddie Hubbard, Don Menza, Andy Simpkins, Bob Magnusson, Bruce Paulson and Joe LaBarbera.

After many Television and Radio appearances, Cat was booked to star in the San Paulo and Parisian Festival Tours and with the Chicago 6 and Big Band Cruises to Mexico. After which there were many return dates with the Windjammers Big Band to Catalina Island as well as opening for the world-famous Buddy Ebsen in Laughlin, Nevada.

After many personal appearances Cat was offered her first CD as featured vocalist on her talented husband, arranger, composer, bassist Chris Conner’s CD "The Journey". Now living and working in LA they have both made a major impact on the So Cal Jazz Scene.
